Bishop James H. Gaylord
The Right Reverend James H. Gaylord, D.D., is a visionary leader, and concerned pastor,whom God has raised from obscurity to touch thousands with the compassion of Jesus Christ through the proclamation of the gospel.

He is one who is genuinely concerned for people, a man of a loving approachability, which is experienced by all who come in his presence. The Bishop James H. Gaylord was born in the rural community of Plymouth, North Carolina, where he experienced salvation, sanctification, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit, while a member of the Pentecostal Temple Church Of God In Christ (Plymouth, North Carolina). At the age of 13, Bishop James Gaylord migrated to New York City. Upon his migration to New York City, he became a member of what was then known as the Mother Church of God In Christ, which was later renamed the Kelly Temple Church of God In Christ, in honor of its late founder. The late Bishop Otha Miema Kelly (former First Assistant Presiding Prelate of the Church of God in Christ, Inc., and establishmentarian of the Mother Church Of God In Christ) took notice of the promise in the young James Gaylord. Consequently, Bishop Kelly mentored the Bishop James Gaylord in the gospel ministry, and as a result, became his spiritual father. Bishop James Gaylord, was installed on March , 1983 and continues the legacy of Bishop Kelly of ministering to souls and aiding in home and foreign missions.

Bishop James Gaylord is married to First Lady Josephine Gaylord.
